Digital Deployment named ‘Best Place to Work’ by the Business Journal
Award marks 5th consecutive year as regional leader in employee satisfaction
The Sacramento Business Journal announced its 2019 finalists for Best Places to Work in the Greater Sacramento Region, and Digital Deployment was again listed. Last year, Digital Deployment won second place overall in the small business category. In 2015, it won first place.
The award is part of a national Best Places to Work award program that is independently ranked by Quantum Workplaces, a company contracted by the Business Journal to evaluate employee satisfaction based on surveys and other metrics.
“For a company that relies entirely on the quality of our team members, there could be no higher honor,” said CEO Mac Clemmens. Mac and Digital Deployment co-founder Sloane have intentionally committed to creating a culture that is different from other companies and uses its culture as a competitive advantage.
Mac recently commented on the importance of companies prioritizing their talent brand in a recent Comstock’s magazine article. In a related talk Mac gave at UC Davis’s Graduate School of Management this spring, he emphasized that building a best place to work is not as simple as offering free snacks and cheap perks. “Having a best place to work is about supporting employee autonomy, trusting your team, empowering their growth, and connecting them to the greater purpose.”
The quality of employee life at Digital Deployment’s work comes from its mission. According to Sloane, “At the end of the day, we’re here to empower communication and help technology work for people. When we see those happy customers, when we see their communities start to engage with them, we know we’ve done our job. Nothing beats that experience.”
